A Hero's Journey

In a “A Hero’s Journey” I learned many things about how to have faith and courage on my entrepreneurial journey. We go through a journey as entrepreneurs but after watching and listening to the devotional, I think that entrepreneurs experience a personal and emotional journey as well.

One of the most impactful things I listened to, was the things you acquire as part of the Hero’s journey. Those on a Hero’s journey will learn to learn, learn to make money and learn to live a life of meaning. I really loved this concept because I think they can all work together to bring you success but also become a better person by thinking of other people.

Learning to learn is a concept that I need to incorporate more of in my life. I always want to be in a state of learning but one thing I struggle with is to keep asking questions. I want to do this even when I’m confident in what I’m doing. We learn more when we’re asking questions and stay humble as well. Learning to make money is probably the easiest of the three. It’s much harder to stay humble and selfless when making a lot of money but it’s vital to have humility to be truly successful. Learning to live a life of meaning is not something I want to realize I need to do at age 60. I can and need to do it NOW. How can I live a life of meaning? I can think of several small ways I can do but I would like to sit down and ponder how I can truly make a difference to others in big ways.

A Hero’s Journey really taught me a lot about what I should be looking to do and incorporating when I go out into the world as an entrepreneur. I know there is much I need to learn, and this devotional helped realize what I need to do now to accomplish the Hero’s Journey.
