Enjoying the journey

This last week, of all the reading material and videos that I watched this past week, I think what I found most interesting (and really took to heart) was Guy Kawasaki's video.  We need to have passion with whatever it is that we decide to do. If we have true passion in our business, we will more likely make an impact on the world. Sometimes, I feel so small in this big world, that I sometimes wonder if what I do is noticed or even really matters. I shouldn't think like that, and it doesn't happen often but occasionally those thoughts creep in. Maybe that's why I liked Guy’s video so much because I think it kind of reinforced that I CAN make a difference in my business, especially when coupled with passion.

Another point he made in his video was that when he was in college, he was constantly seeing other people at certain stages of life and couldn't wait to get to that point. When he eventually did get to that stage, he looked back at people who were at the point where he once was and wished he could go back. I thought that was funny because when he did look at the students who were at the stage he was once in, he was extremely successful and rich, but that didn’t matter to him as much anymore.

I love my life, and I have loved every stage of life that I have had thus far, but that's not to say that I haven't looked at other people in various stages of their lives and wished I could be at that stage too. Honestly, I think most people are guilty of this and wish we all, myself included, would stop. I have no doubt that someone looks at us ourselves and wishes they were at the stage that we are in. We need to enjoy the stages of life that we are in, being fully present and not be looking at others, wishing we were there.
